Embark on an 8-day guided hike along the Dolomites High Trail no. 2, Alta Via delle Dolomiti n.2. The tour starts in the Villnöss Valley and ends in San Martino di Castrozza. Your experienced mountain guides from Dolomagic Mountain Guide will accompany you and your group on this fascinating high trail.

Highlights of the tour include the view of the Geisler Group, crossing the Sella, the Marmolada and spending the night on the Pale di San Martino plateau.

detailed description

Day 1: Arrival in Val di Funes

Hotel check in in Val di Funes and tour briefing with your guide in the hotel.

Day 5: Rif. Boe to Rif. Onorio Falier All'Ombretta
↑ 400m - ↓ 500m – 10 km - 6.5 hours

From Rifugio Boe we hike up to Sas Pordoi without any major differences in altitude. From there we take the cable car down to the Pordoi Pass (2,239 m). Via the Viel dal Pan we reach the Fedaia Lake (2,058 m) below the Marmolada. A taxi then takes us to the Malga Ciapela (1,450 m). From here we hike up to the Rifugio Falier (2,074).

Day 4: Rifugio Puez to Rifugio Boe
↑ 1,200m - ↓ 800m – 13 km - 7 hours

Today we have a long and demanding day of touring ahead of us. First we go to the Gardena Pass at 2,121m. Then we cross towards the Sella massif and climb through the Val Setus. Here we overcome several rope-secured passages until we reach Rifugio Cavazza, 2,585m. Our goal today is Rifugio Boè at 2,873m.

Day 3: Rifugio Genova to Rifugio Puez
↑ 890m - ↓ 720m – 12km - 6 hours

We set off in the morning towards the Ütia Medalges (2,293 m) and then towards the Forcella de la Roa (2,617 m). This is followed by a short descent into the valley of the "Val dla Roa" and then further up to Forcella Forces de Sieles (2,505 m) and then to Rifugio Puez (2,475 m). If conditions permit, the ascent of Puez Peak is also possible.

Day 2: from St. Magdalena (Funes) to Rifugio Genova 2,2306m
Total ascent:
↑ 1,080m - ↓ 0m - 9km - 5 hours

After a fantastic breakfast, we start today on a fairly flat path towards Malga Zannes. From here we leave the wide hiking trails and soon reach the Kaserillalm. After a short rest and refreshment, we head up through beautiful landscapes to Rifugio Genova.

Day 6: Rif. Falier to Rif. Passo Valles
↑ 900m - ↓ 1,600m – 18 km - 8 hours

We climb to the Pas de Ombretola and then to the Pas de Cirele. We descend past the Rifugio Fuciade to the Pellegrino Pass. We take the cable car up to the Col Margherita. The last section takes us over the Forcella Predazzo to the Passo Valles and the Rifugio Valles.

Day 7: Rif. Passo Valles to Rifugio Rosetta - “Giovanni Pedrotti”
↑ 1,200m - ↓ 600m – 16 km - 7 hours

The impressive Pala group rises before us. We hike over the Forcella di Venegia (2,217 m) through picturesque alpine meadows to the Segantini Hut (2,174 m). From there we descend to the Passo Rolle (1,972 m) and follow the Sentiero Finanzieri (712) to the Rifugio Rosetta at 2,633 m, our destination for today.

Day 8: Reef. Rosetta “Giovanni Pedrotti” to San Martino
3 hours – ↓ 1,200m – 6 km

Today we descend on path 701 to San Martino di Castrozza. There a taxi picks us up and takes us back to Santa Maddalena in Val di Funes, where we arrive in the early afternoon.
